About Us
Hi, I’m Faye — teacher, creative thinker, and mum to two brilliant girls who never stop asking questions!
Why I Started Post and Play
As a teacher, I’ve always believed that the best kind of learning is the kind that looks like play. And as a parent, I know how overwhelming it can feel to support your child’s development at home — especially when life is busy and you simply want to do something meaningful together.
Over the years, I’ve been a School Improvement Consultant, Vice Principal, Head of EYFS, and a teacher across all primary age groups from 3 to 11. I’ve spent my career designing learning that feels like play — and now I’m pouring that same passion into every Post and Play box.
Although my own daughters are now beyond the early years, they still love opening these boxes and diving into the activities. They can even use the resources to demonstrate something beyond the EYFS curriculum, because everything is open ended. Everything has been carefully tried, tested, and tweaked with children in real classrooms — and my own home!
I’m a strong advocate of play-based learning — where children don’t even realise they’re learning. I believe in child-led discovery, but also in offering the gentle structure that parents sometimes want. That’s why every box includes a simple, supportive parent guide, with ideas to stretch the play and spot the learning.
Some of the resources are even handmade by me, with care and intention — because I want each box to feel personal, unique, and crafted with a teacher’s eye and a parent’s heart.
I’m passionate about school readiness
Not just the academic side, but the emotional and social foundations that matter just as much. How can we help our children feel ready for the transition into nursery, Reception, and beyond? Learning and playing together helps build collaboration, confidence, communication, and a sense of safety — all of which create the best conditions for learning.
After years of working in schools, leading early years provision, and supporting teachers across the country, I realised there was a gap. Families needed something simple, purposeful, and genuinely playful — something that supported learning at home without the pressure.
When it comes to early literacy, it’s not always as straightforward as early maths. I wanted to show parents how we can teach the foundations of English — listening, speaking, sound awareness, mark-making — through natural play.
So I started Post and Play.
Each box is full of sensory, tactile resources (many handcrafted by me), rooted in real early education, and created with love and intention. No gimmicks. No fluff. Just open-ended learning that feels like play— and brings a little magic to everyday moments at home.
What I Believe
Children are naturally curious
our job is to nurture that.
Play is powerful
it’s how real learning begins.
Parents are teachers too
and you don’t need a degree to do it well.
